Versatile Tussar silk sarees, in vibrant festive and muted hues, make an easy transition from a day to an evening look. Our collection of sarees from ‘Silk City’ Bhagalpur, Bihar, are woven with Tussar in the warp and dupion silk in the weft.
Tussar silk is obtained from silkworms that breed on wild forest trees. All Tussar is wild silk which is produced from an unruptured cocoon. Dupion silk is reeled soft raw silk with a characteristic sheen and inherent slubs (irregularities in texture) and is thicker than Tussar, giving the resulting weave a rustic look.
