Kosa (Sanskrit name of Desi Tussar), is silk obtained from an Indian silkworm – Antheraea mylitta, that grows in wild forests, feeding off the Arjun, Saja and Sal trees. Chattisgarh’s Korba and Champa clusters produce some of the best quality Kosa silk, with the weaving tradition propagated by the local Dewangan community.
